Professional Experience

I have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in addictions counseling from my past experience working in outpatient, hospital, court, in-home, and inpatient treatment settings. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked for over 15 years at Fellowship Hall, a residential treatment facility in Greensboro. I have also worked in a medication-assisted treatment practice, and with county mental health. I have expertise in crisis intervention, harm reduction, counseling education, and mental health, as well as alcohol and other substance use counseling and treatment.

Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations using a variety of treatment approaches. My work experience, along with my personal experience as a person in long-term recovery, have led me to have an open-minded and flexible approach to addiction treatment. Addiction is complex, and it affects people’s lives on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. I work with each of my clients to identify what supports will best help them in achieving their personal goals.

Education and Credentials

I have a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from UNC Greensboro and NC A&T University. I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) from UNC Greensboro.

I was a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC, formerly CSAC) for over 20 years. I returned to school several years ago to further my counseling education and obtained my master’s degree. I am now a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, supervised by Jack Register.
